The Making
Look first at the dark thread. It traces each leather panel, draws the eye towards the centre and makes the assembly part of the design. The rounded form is not a single uninterrupted surface: it is a composition of pieces, their joins deliberately visible.
At the centre, a circular medallion holds a finer embroidered geometry. Around it, the cognac leather shifts between warmer and deeper brown tones. Small creases and differences between panels give the surface its particular rhythm, rather than the uniform finish of a moulded object.
The hand-stitching is both a practical connection and a visual line. It gives the pouf a structure that can be followed with the eye, from the outer panels to the embroidered centre.
Collector’s Note
We chose this version for the contrast between warm leather and dark thread. The stitching gives definition to the generous round shape without making it feel severe; the central embroidery rewards a closer look without overwhelming the whole.
Beside pale linen, timber or a shelf of well-read books, it introduces a different kind of presence: low, tactile and quietly detailed. We see it as part of a reading corner that develops over time, not as an accessory chosen merely to complete a colour scheme.
What holds our attention is the balance between the clear geometry and the less predictable surface of the leather. The design has order. The material keeps its character.
Warmth in the leather. Definition in the thread.
