The Workshop
Sunrise is handwoven in the Tetouan cooperative workshop with which Moroccan Corridor works directly. Behind its colour is the work of bringing threads together, building a textile that will leave the loom and become part of someone’s home.
The cooperative’s artisans describe supplying textiles to merchants in nearby Chefchaouen. Their account offers a connection between the workshop and the city associated with this collection, while giving the making a place of its own.
For Moroccan Corridor, that direct relationship matters. It allows us to speak about a workshop we work with, rather than leave the people behind the object outside its story.
Collector’s Note
We chose Sunrise for a palette that feels generous rather than reserved. Burgundy gives it depth, orange and golden tones bring warmth, and a passage of cream offers a lighter pause. Its appeal lies in that balance, a textile with presence, without an elaborate motif.
The name Sunrise is our way of describing the feeling of the colour. It is an invitation to imagine warmth and a fresh beginning, not an explanation of the weaver’s intention.
What we value is an everyday object that can lift the mood of a room without being reserved for special occasions. A piece chosen with care, then lived with freely.
Colour with presence. Craft with a place. A blanket to make your own.
