The Tradition

A home should speak
of where things come from.

Moroccan home decor is an interior tradition shaped over centuries in the medinas of Fez, Marrakech, Chefchaouen, and the Atlas Mountains — blending Berber, Arab, Andalusian, and sub-Saharan influences into a single, layered aesthetic.

It is characterised by rich saturated colour, hand-knotted textures, geometric arabesque patterns, and entirely artisanal construction. The result is an interior that feels simultaneously exotic and grounded — warm, layered, and unmistakably human.

The Craft Cities Behind Every Piece

Moroccan home decor is inseparable from the cities that produce it. Each medina specialises in distinct crafts, passed down through generations of master artisans — the maalems.

What Is Sabra
Cactus Silk?

Sabra silk — also called cactus silk or agave silk — is a natural fibre extracted from the leaves of the Agave sisalana plant, which grows abundantly across Morocco. Hand-spun and hand-dyed by Berber artisans, it produces a lustrous, semi-transparent fabric with a texture similar to silk but entirely plant-based and vegan.

How to Style Moroccan Home Decor

Four principles from our interior team
01 Start with a Neutral Base White walls, natural plaster, or warm greige tones let the colour and texture of each artisanal piece speak for itself without competing with the architecture.
02 Layer Textures, Not Just Colours A leather pouf on a Berber rug, topped with a woven throw and surrounded by cushions. Aim for three to five textures in any one space.
03 Use Colour as an Accent Choose one or two hero colours — cobalt blue, burnt orange, or deep saffron — and repeat them across two or three pieces. Our Blue collection and Vibrant Turquoise make this easy.
04 Mix Old and New A leather pouf beside a mid-century sofa, or a Handira blanket draped over a modern armchair — the contrast is the point.
Questions & Answers

Frequently Asked Questions

The Moroccan interior style is sometimes called Moroccan Bohemian or Moroccan Maximalism, though it encompasses a wide spectrum — from the austere minimalism of a Berber tent to the ornate luxury of a Marrakech riad. The unifying thread is handcrafted quality and layered texture.

The most common materials are vegetable-tanned leather (poufs, boxes), hand-spun wool (blankets, rugs, cushions), sabra cactus silk (cushions, throws), cedar wood (furniture, frames), brass (lanterns, trays, teapots), and zellige ceramic tile (tableware, decorative panels). All are natural, durable, and sustainably sourced.

Yes — authentic Moroccan home decor is entirely handmade. Every piece in the Moroccan Corridor® collection is produced by hand in a Moroccan artisan workshop, with no mass manufacturing involved. This is what gives each piece its unique character and slight natural variation.

Our pieces are made in Morocco — primarily in Fez (leather goods), Chefchaouen (woven blankets), Marrakech (decorative accessories), and the Atlas Mountain villages (Berber rugs and Handira blankets). We work directly with artisan cooperatives and family workshops.

Spot-clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. Condition the leather every 6–12 months with a natural leather conditioner. Keep away from direct sunlight to preserve the dye. Unstuffed poufs can be flattened for storage or travel.

Yes. Moroccan Corridor® ships worldwide from Morocco. Most orders arrive within 7–14 business days. Poufs are available stuffed or unstuffed — the unstuffed option significantly reduces shipping cost and volume.
