Moroccan Corridor

Moroccan Abstract Art Rug — Organic Lines & Berber Motifs | 2×3 m

Crafted in Khenifra, Morocco

£1,288.00

This is not a rug. It is a drawing made in wool.

ZRB_8 is unlike anything else in the Moroccan Corridor collection. Where other rugs speak in symbols and geometry, this one speaks in lines — long, organic, wandering lines that cross the ivory ground like a hand moving freely across paper. A diamond here. A cluster of dots there. A rectangle drawn in contour. Nothing is filled in. Everything is suggested.

It was woven by hand in the Middle Atlas by an artisan who works without a pattern — the composition emerges from the weaving itself, one line at a time. The result is a piece that sits at the intersection of textile and contemporary art. It belongs on a floor the way a painting belongs on a wall.

A Drawing Made in Wool

A Drawing Made in Wool

Most rugs begin with a pattern. A grid. A plan. A set of symbols to be reproduced row by row, knot by knot, until the composition is complete.

This one did not. The artisan who wove ZRB_8 works differently — she begins with a line, follows it, and lets the composition find itself. The long organic lines that cross the ivory ground were not drawn first on paper. They emerged from the loom, one pass at a time, guided by instinct and decades of practice.

The result is a piece that cannot be repeated. The exact placement of every line, every contour diamond, every cluster of dots — these are the decisions of a single hand on a single day. When this rug leaves the workshop, that composition is gone. What remains is the object itself, and whoever chooses to live with it.

Object Origin

Craft City Khenifra, Morocco
Material Middle Atlas Mountains, Morocco
Construction Wool pile on cotton warp. Organic lines woven freehand by the artisan — no two pieces identical. Contour motifs without fill, creating a drawing-like aesthetic.

More Than a Store

Moroccan Corridor was not created to sell Moroccan products. It was created to preserve, celebrate, and share the remarkable craftsmanship traditions that have shaped Morocco for centuries.

Every object we present begins long before it reaches a home. It begins with a material, a place, a workshop, and the hands of an artisan whose knowledge has often been passed down through generations.

Our role is simple: To identify exceptional craftsmanship and bring it to those who value authenticity, beauty, and cultural heritage.

We do not manufacture. We do not mass-produce.

We select.
