Woven in the high-altitude village of Taznakht in the Anti-Atlas Mountains, this Zanafi rug is a study in contrast — bold black geometric motifs set against a field of natural ivory wool. The Zanafi weaving tradition is one of Morocco's most distinctive, characterized by its tight flat-weave structure and graphic, almost architectural patterning passed down through generations of Amazigh women.
Each piece is hand-woven on a traditional loom using 100% natural wool, sourced and spun locally. The interplay of black and white is not merely aesthetic — it reflects the duality woven into Berber visual language: earth and sky, shadow and light.
